TFU 6.9 Video CD-ROM:
CAGED Dominant 2

This lesson deals with the five forms of the CAGED Dominant system. Each of the five chord forms will be linked to an arpeggio which can then be used as a basis for creating melodies.

The principle of vertical soloing (changing with each chord) will be presented over two chord vamps with C7 being the home base of each progression. You will then learn all five positions on the fingerboard to navigate through the chord changes by utilizing different forms of the CAGED Dominant system. I'll also show the connections between all five Dom7 arpeggios and their respective blues scale form.

McQueen started performing live in venues around their home town of Brighton, England in February 2004. By June of that year they had started to play at venues in London, and from there began touring the UK as supporting artists for various acts including Roxy Saint and The Holiday Plan. Their first headline tour was a university tour in January/February 2005. They played seven UK university venues. 2005 also saw McQueen's first non-UK live performance, at Highfields Festival, Germany, where they performed alongside bands such as Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Incubus. Since starting out, McQueen has toured with high profile names such as W.A.S.P., Hanoi Rocks and Wednesday 13 and supported Aerosmith at Hyde Park Calling in June 2007. In 2008 they also supported Velvet Revolver on various tour dates on their 2008 Revolution Tour. Check out McQueen doing a cover of Iggy Pop's "I Got A Right" at the Gibson's Summer Jam party in Nashville. McQueen opened for Johnny Winter who was later joined on stage by Slash & Larry Carlton (stay tuned for that footage).
